I bought three because I am losing them. All three were slightly different when hanging from a rope. They fit perfectly on the table, but I don't usually use them like that. I sent them back and received three different ones. 1 is perfect, the other is very close. The third is far away in the picture, even on the countertop. You can mark it with a marker to fix the error. Place a spirit level in the middle of the string to get the height of the ends of the string. To check the declination of your string, set the level to 1/4 of the way and make sure it's still flat. PS: The free Level app on iPhone is great for line level calibration. Unfortunately you can't hang your iPhone on a rope 😎 (PPS to check any level, get the level, then rotate it 180 degrees and it should still show the level)
