There may be a bad start from the manufacturer
Tried this item twice in two weeks, had to return both as they both had no continuity between the outer pins as per the troubleshooting in the service manual. That was the correct information. There should be a resistance of 1.6-2.4 kOhm, but the circuit was completely open. Probably just a defective batch from the factory. I'll try another provider. Free returns with no hassles so not too bad.
