I am a design engineer who uses and develops high tech test equipment. In terms of ergonomics and functionality, this is a really good multimeter. It's a bit smaller than I expected but at the same time chunky and will definitely stand up to bullying. The dial makes a nice click and is easy to press with one finger. There are stops for all the main functions, including AC and DC voltage, without having to use the select button (selection is only used for AC and DC), a big plus. Decent quality wires with molded holders for storage. The packaging and instructions are also better than most cheap gauges. BK Precision is my $100 pick, and if more expensive, it's by sheer luck. But at a low level, this is a very good all-round option. Update: I've just had the chance to use it for outboard motor troubleshooting and it's been great (bad solenoid). The stand worked great on sloping boat surfaces and has just enough weight to keep it from falling off when you move the wires like pocket knives do.
