Installation and Product Issues

Installed on an outhouse about 25 feet tall. I didn't have to use a bent rod as I was replacing an existing halogen bulb. Problem #1: The included clamp screws weren't long enough for my previous bar. I dug up and used two longer stainless steel screws with the same thread. Problem #2: When tightening the screws with the included pole clamp, the threaded portion of the lantern required for installation broke off. The body of the lantern appears to be cast iron (not that strong) rather than cast steel. My advice; Tighten until you can no longer rotate or move the light and stop. Problem #3: The photocell has a north arrow, but the included photocell is not designed to rotate in that direction. It may curl easily. I tried loosening the two outer screws on the socket and rotating the plug, but that moved the arrow way north the other way. This might work for you. One solution that might work for you is to remove that connector, orient the connector to face north when installing the photocell, and drill or cut holes in the device yourself. I didn't do any of this as the light seems to work well when the photocell is facing west, which is the direction the light source is pointing.
