I decided to upgrade my gaming rig from and old i5 w/ a 650 watt PSU to a an i9 + ASUS ROG Strix Z590-E. First unit burned out (fortunately no damage to my equipment, but terrible smell). I returned and received a replacement unit. I used the tester and "the fan spinned" so it felt like it would work, went through the trouble of removing the old 650W PSU and plug in the new one. only to have it burn out on the first use as well (again, no damage but terrible smell).I don't know why a 850W PSU would burn out powering an equipment that a 650W PSU can run without breaking a sweat, but I ended up very disappointed at this.
