This is a 'PAD' wrist, not a 'GUARD' wrist - the difference is that the wrist has a splint which actually prevents excessive wrist flexion. These are just "cushions" to prevent you from scratching the skin on your hands when you fall, but do NOTHING to immobilize your fragile carpal joint. If you are looking for protection for your wrists in the event of an accident, this only protects your skin and does not lessen the impact on your joint! OH!.
