Review on Motorola Motonav TN555: 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator – Navigate with Ease! by Julio Rattanajatuphorn

This is an amazing GPS. I have had four other GPS units and this unit is a notch above the others. A small (BIG) problem. The TN555 will not send SMS with my Verizon Chocolate Touch (LG VX8575) phone. Without this function, the "Send location" function will not work. Also the "location" request does not work without the functioning of the messaging service. First I called Verizon "sorry I can't help you" (and I only bought this phone 9 months ago). Called Motorola, they were VERY helpful and even called LG. LG must have thought I was talking about an oil spill because they blamed first Motorola and then Verizon. When I asked if they could write a software solution, you would think I was asking for a realistic solution to an oil leak problem. LG told me the programming was Verizon's problem. I then accessed the iPhone 3G which was supposed to work with this device but it didn't work with this device either. I contacted Motorola and they said send it. So I got a replacement from Motorola and it appears to be a refurb and the SMS still doesn't work. I immediately called Motorola to find out why my 5 day block was being changed to Refurb. Motorola says they will replace it with a new one as I had a new one when I shipped it. This evening I received a call from Motorola tech support to explain why text messaging wasn't working. YOU WILL LOVE IT SMS NOT WORKING on the Motonav TN555 BECAUSE NO ONE MAKES COMPATIBLE PHONES. Yes, no one makes a compatible phone, EVEN MOTOROLA. I spent 34 minutes on the phone with Motorola Technical Support only to find out that Motorola was selling a device they were making FALSE CLAIMS about. Motorola lists phones that will work with it ([.] ), but actually NONE OF THESE PHONES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH BLUE TOOTH TEXT MESSAGING. If you are purchasing this product for the text messaging feature, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. THE TEXT MESSAGE FEATURE DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PHONES THAT SUPPORT BLUE TOOTH TEXT MESSAGE, EVEN A MOTOROLA!
