Review on 🎨 Sargent Art 16oz Gesso: Premium White Surface Primer for Professional Artists by Kate Korte

This is extremely mediocre for oil paint finishes. It requires at least twice as many coats as other cheap plasters I've used to get any acceptable coverage at all, and it's thin enough to not harden without having to sand down each coat if you want a reasonably smooth finish - I mean removing deep strokes, and it was applied with a large, soft brush, washed between coats. Impasto is made for paint, not primer. Sheet. The price sucks, it works like shit, and it prevents oil-based pigments from seeping into the porous surface. yes it is geso It also reminds me that my time is more valuable than it really is.
