Review on Panasonic WES035P Replacement HydraClean Cartridges by Misty Miller

These compact cartridges combine filters and detergent and plug into the Panasonic shaver's 'base station' to automatically clean the shaver. The manufacturer recommends changing the cartridge monthly. I initially followed this recommendation and found that by the end of the month the filter was heavily discolored by stuck beard residue. However, since the razor is designed for wet/dry shaving, I have found that washing the razor head and cutting blades after each use and before inserting the razor into the "base station" can extend the life of each cartridge by at least 2x. months, which makes the economy much cheaper. I'm not sure how much more useful the base's auto-clean feature is compared to simply washing the shaving head and cutting blades under the tap, but I think the detergent in the cartridge helps give a cleaner result.
