This pot has something bigger for cooking pasta, but not as big as my giant pot. And something that isn't as heavy as my Dutch Oven Calphalon. In other words, we needed a good medium-sized frying pan for jobs where our other frying pans weren't quite up to scratch. This Cuisinart pan fills the bill and distributes the heat well. We already have the AllClad (much more expensive and very high quality) as well as a few other Cuisinart pans, but this one seems to be just as good as the AllClad and better than our old Cuisinart pans. We noticed that the pasta water boils a lot faster in this pot. Our stove is the same, so we can only attribute the improvement to the pot. The rim or rim of this pan is smoother and looks more finished than the more expensive pan. Overall I don't think you can get a better pan at this price point.
