Okay, I don't know why, but this device only burns CDs, not DVDs. But anyway, I use it to read my DVDs to rip to my Plex library. Connected to my PC with no problems. It's easy, which is good. And the machine is quiet. This is USB 2.0, not 3.0. I would like 3.0. But it helped. I was able to copy my DVD to my Plex. Of course I have the DVD. There is no piracy here. But what I don't like is that you can't burn a DVD if you have to. CD only. I'm glad I have a Blu-ray drive that can do all of this. This is a good device for reading discs from your laptop. My Blu-Ray device occupies 2 USB ports. This one only takes one. Since my desktop CD/DVD drive has failed and stopped working, this option worked very well. Just think it should be able to burn DVDs, not just read them.
