Access to tremendous value at very low prices!

Great films, documentaries, audio books are sold in libraries, antique shops, etc. for a few cents. I guess you can say they are affordable and this product allows me to watch and listen to them. And it doesn't take up much space on the bookshelf.

Works as intended, build quality is mediocre

This works exactly as I expected, but the build quality of the case falls a bit. The general fit and finish leave a lot to be desired. The stitching is uneven and the connector is an old style USB connector, not the newer USB-C connector. The plastic is a bit flimsy and overall the device feels cheap.

Plug and Play - Works as expected with MacBook Air.

I have to admit I was a bit scared when I opened the box. There were two wires and I had no idea what to do with them - use one, connect both? What are they for?!? The instruction was for Windows 98 and no information on what to do with the wires. Did he mention a floppy disk?!? Did the driver have to be installed?!? Good for reading DVDs and CDs, but not burning DVDs!

Okay, I don't know why, but this device only burns CDs, not DVDs. But anyway, I use it to read my DVDs to rip to my Plex library. Connected to my PC with no problems. It's easy, which is good. And the machine is quiet. This is USB 2.0, not 3.0. I would like 3.0. But it helped. I was able to copy my DVD to my Plex. Of course I have the DVD. There is no piracy here. But what I don't like is that you can't burn a DVD if you have to. CD only. I'm glad I have a Blu-ray drive that can do all of this.

More errors than hits

I got this as a supplement for my kids' laptops. Only one laptop has a floppy drive, so I shared it with two others. Unfortunately, this only added to our disappointment. It only works about a third of the time. When we load a disc, it just clicks and buzzes for a minute or two. About halfway it spits the disc back without an error message. Slow but works for external components

I used this with a new laptop to install some software. Two different cable types are included in the kit, but you only need one to use them. Turns on when connected to a laptop. It was easy enough to figure out and start installing. There were a lot of clicks and they were a bit slow and eventually stopped. I touched the USB port where it was connected to the laptop and it again asked me what I wanted to do, but the installation continued without me having to start over. It's very compact and…
