I bought a 480GB drive and installed it about a year ago after buying a MacBook Air when my previous computer died. I needed more disk space than the laptop had and they had good reviews so I gritted my teeth and bought one. It worked reasonably well, albeit a bit slower than the original HD, until recently my computer started shutting down once or twice (sometimes more often) a day and going to a Mac screen with a folder with a blinking question mark showing that was not the case The boot disk cannot be found. I checked other causes including malware and found nothing. The drive isn't even full yet and there's over 100GB of free space left, so I haven't worked too hard on it or partitioned it for another OS like I've done in the past. Shutdowns are a sign of a hard drive failure. In the case of an Apple product, they would replace the defective one, but if you buy from this third party, you're basically lost. I wouldn't be surprised if others have similar problems over time. As people often say, let the buyer beware.
