Review on Zyxel NAS326: Personal Cloud Storage [2-Bay] with Remote Access & Media Streaming – Disks Not Included by Nikifor Stoilov ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

The device was removed so that a RAID1 array could be used to organize the storage of a family's photo and video collection. I won't discuss the technical details in my review; instead, I'll focus on my personal experiences with the product. Let's start with the drawbacks. Even though plastic is used in many areas, it is of very high quality. Although it's not composed of aluminum, the images give the impression that it is. Plastic makes up the entire enclosure as well as the disc cassettes. The fact that even the latches are made of plastic and function as a result of the plastic's elasticity is, however, the most irritating aspect. I am aware that they are very occasionally used and shouldn't break easily, but this seriously ruins the effect. The fan grille is the second. Wide and stamped, it generates airflow obstructions and amplifies noise. A wire grate could be inserted; the cost wouldn't rise significantly. Insufficient manual in 2022. The hardware is relatively flimsy; while copying data from the built-in USB device to internal SSDs, a single-core processor is loaded to full capacity. Well, it was expected. The third issue is the inability to configure the device as instructed in the instructions using findme. Zyxel. Com and identify it on the network. I worked on this for about an hour. Following the installation of the NAS Starter Utility application, everything was successful. Another flaw is that there is no indicator on the power supply, even though there is a spot where one should be. At first, it's not even evident that it turned on; it appears like the PSU is malfunctioning and the light is off. Now, on to the advantages. During an hour of continuous use, the CPU is 42 degrees, the disks are 38 to 39 degrees, and the gadget operates silently. Rubber dampers are used to place hard drives in cassettes, which also lowers noise. Although I haven't evaluated the apps' functionality yet, time will tell how reliable they are. But thus far, the reviews of the purchase are positive.

Pros
  • Price, craftsmanship, two-year manufacturer's warranty, and functionality.
Cons
  • the case's construction, the absence of instructions for 2022, and the lack of a disk containing software.
