Review on πŸ”Œ D-Link DGS-1024D Ethernet Switch - 24 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Fanless Network Hub, Desktop or Rack Mountable, Black by Bob Schultz

Great switch for printers and supplies

This is a really good switch. Low power consumption and no fan. The status indicators are good and quickly show which ports are 1G or 10/100. I saw a review where the author said the location of the status lights was a bit odd, and that's true. Port placement/order vs. status LED placement/order is a bit hard to come by - D-Link could have placed the ports better. The order of the status LEDs would make sense if they numbered the ports horizontally directly instead of how they chose to. The image at the top of the page is probably an earlier version of this as these lights are positioned differently. The bezel is silver instead of gray as pictured. The installation took quite a long time. Hooked up power, moved all the cables I had from the old 8 port hub to this one and I was in business. In terms of performance, I have no complaints. Throughput is as expected. I turned it on for almost 2 months and it never turned off or on. A bit overpriced for the current list price. Mine was from the Warehouse Deals catalog and was a lot cheaper. For the current price I see listed you can probably find a decent managed switch.

Pros
  • Twenty-four (24) 10/100/1000 Mbps switch ports
Cons
  • Hard to say
