Review on πŸ”ͺ Sharp Pebble Waterstone Flattening for Effective Sharpening by John Miranda

Revainrating 4 out of 5

That's good, I'm not a beginner, expert or stone snob (yet)

I received a beautiful 1"x6" rock from my grandfather (don't know what it is but old school). I've learned from this and while I'm by no means an expert, I've been able to get hair loss results (with ceramics). It wasn't perfectly flat or completely flat, it still isn't, but it will be better when my tool arrives. The fact is that I'm not a cook, not an expert, but with a small stone and even a flat result it will not be. I'm not doing it for work, I just wanted more features and this Pebble is good for the average person. I can tell it wears out faster than my hand but it comes with a cleaning/smoothing stone and there is another stone to work with. I easily make pocket hair clippers with this stone and some ceramic and am out of practice. I like the feel, both dry and wet, and the sharpening feedback feels really good. Again, this will work very well for the average person, home cook, beginner, etc. For those who enjoy the finer things in life or are a stone snob, there are more expensive stones that wear out slower and more expensive stones that wear out faster (from what I've researched). Received a Gransfors Bruks washing machine (for my field bag) as well as a Chosera 3000 along the way. Hands down Bruks followed by Pebble are two of the most beautiful stones I've ever bought and I expect Chosera to be even better. But just know that I've only ever bought cheap crap from the local hardware store that might be good enough to sharpen a lawn mower blade beforehand. No expert or even versatile experience with stones. I hope this helps you decide.
