This is a great charger and it does the job perfectly. BUT when it comes to Tier 2 chargers, they are not all the same! This charger is 16 amps not 32 amps. Basically there are different tier 2 chargers out there. A 32 amp charger takes 7-9 hours to fully charge but this one with half the amp at 16 amps takes twice as long and takes 15-18 hours to fully charge. Take another step forward. A 16 amp charger like this can operate on a 20 amp, 220 volt circuit that requires 12 gauge wiring. The 32 amp charger must be connected to the 220 volt 40 amp circuit using 8 gauge wire. That means you need a 20A circuit breaker with 12 gauge wire for a 16A device and a 40A circuit breaker with 8 gauge wire for a 32A charger. Your switchboard, what wire size you currently have, and be prepared to swap or deal with different connector configurations to get things working.
