I love this item very much. I'm just sitting on the couch and using it! It comes in 2 pieces so you can adjust the height. I took mine apart and use the bottom part under the table, and most of it when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV and drawing. It's like I got 2 for the price of 1. Also, it's made of memory foam and has a removable cover that can be removed and washed. If you think about it, I would say do it. I've been using mine every day since I bought it. Excellent purchase!
