Review on Renewed Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop: 15.6" 144Hz, AMD Ryzen 7-4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 2060 6GB, Phantom Black by Aneta Szczepaska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My impression of the purchase is good, buy it.

I consider it to be an almost ideal laptop for my work, which is software development. First things first, let's talk about performance. Second, the cooling system is simply magnificent. It has two high-end fans and four radiators, and it exhausts air to the sides (in a less intense manner) and the back (more intensively). Even when subjected to a respectable amount of load (three browsers with multiple tabs, PHP Storm with a huge project), it continues to be very calm and silent. At the same time, the temperatures on the video card and the processor are maintained within the range of 35-45 degrees by using fans that are completely silent. Finally, the keyboard is made of membrane and has a key travel that is relatively large. Surprisingly, each press results in a sensational improvement in the overall tactile reaction. The cover of the keys is made of a good plastic that is pleasant to the touch. I should emphasize that this plastic is easily stained but is, at the same time, very pleasant to the touch. The working panel has a soft touch that makes it very pleasant to the touch while also being resistant to dirt and grime. Because Ubuntu is the primary operating system that I use, the existence of Windows would be considered a negative aspect from my point of view. Those who want to use Linux on this system should note the following: 1. The video card drivers, specifically the proprietary Nvidia-440, are not supported by all cores. You should have no trouble using these drivers with kernel version 5.62022. The drivers do not operate on ordinary kernels or other kernels (including 5.8), they do not permit the use of an external monitor at the same time, and they do not adjust the level of brightness of the backlight. 2. There is a good chance that the touchpad won't work right out of the box.

Pros
  • - Great performance - Very fast Nvme SSD - High-quality display with 144 hertz (Hz) refresh rate - Ergonomic keyboard - Cooling system (!)
Cons
  • The case, despite being appealing and sturdy, is made of plastic and is readily stained. Marked keyboard Windows Screen glare is visible on a black background, which cannot but upset.
