As soon as I opened the package I knew I needed this. durable strap and the buckle is very strong. The width is about 2 inches, I say that because I read some reviews which weren't the best and complained that it's too wide and you can't fit it in most pants because you CAN'T meant to wear like a regular belt, it's not meant to hold your pants, it's meant to go around your waist while holding the tool pouches that you buy separately. If this is your first time needing a tool belt this is a good place to start as you can buy pouches as needed rather than buying a full tool belt that already comes with the pouches. I don't think this one is meant to hold a lot of bags because that would be impractical. For this reason, other tool belts come with pads, and some that need to carry a lot of weight even come with suspenders. but it's great if you don't have to carry tons of weight, i'm sure it will hold a lot of weight but it will be uncomfortable. There is nothing wrong with this belt, but again it all depends on your needs.
