Review on ⚙️ DCT Aluminum Clamp Straight Cutting: Precision and Efficiency Combined by Charles Palma

Does what it should. Here are some tips on how to get it to do what you want.

This product works great. It presses firmly against the workpiece and guides the saw in a perfectly straight line. If like me you bought it because you just started working with wood and are trying to expand your options without buying a table saw, there are a few things you should know before using it in your projects: 1. Invest into some measurement and layout tools. Get at least a square speed, but a square combination is worth its weight in gold if you use this guide.2. Make sure that the circular saw blade is set exactly at 90°. Cover the base plate with some wax so it slides over the work piece3. Decide how to align the guide with your grades and stick to it. I decided to split the pencil line.4. CHECK THAT THE GUIDE IS SQUARE AT BOTH ENDS. The guide does NOT snap straight, so check it every time. Pull on the end of the handle while adjusting it so it doesn't move when you snap it into place. You can use a speed square on both ends or run a combo square along the guide.5. When attaching the guide, be sure to take the kerf of the saw blade into account. Keep in mind that this number changes depending on which side is your "held" side6. Press gently but constantly on the guide as you cut. I don't think it will bend, but it doesn't require any extra effort. My first few cuts were shaky, but by the end of my first project using this guide I was accurate to 1/32nd. ". This is definitely not a substitute for a table saw when you factor in the set-up time, but with a bit of patience you can get the exact cuts you want. Enjoy!
