I've been a Schwalbe fan for years and particularly a fan of the Schwalbe One Clincher at both 25C and 28C. After reading many reviews I decided to give the Continental GP 5000 a try , although I had bad experiences with some gravel kings a few years ago. Back-to-back on the same bike, wheels, tubes and presses, the GP5000 28C is slightly faster on my well-ridden training routes and feels more "flexible" compared to the Schwalbe One. After about 2000km practice rides on my regular routes they wear no more/less than typical ones and the cut/cut resistance seems better. I usually wash my tires after every ride (rarely <70km) and inspect and tape any scratches/cuts with super glue before the next ride, so I'm pretty strict about checking and I really think they're less prone to damage. I had a flat on a 135km drive up Mount St Helens, I got punctured by a sharp piece of debris but it was just bad luck and I would have punctured pretty much anything I could think of. if not better cornering and braking compared to the One. I dismount aggressively and at 190cm and 95kg I'm really pushing the cornering/braking limits and find the GP5000 grippy and predictable. I haven't ridden them much in the wet, but what I did was "no drama". Very impressed with this and have already bought another set of 25C's for another wheelset. Highly recommended.
