Great affordable sensor for IFTTT!

This is a great addition to my fledgling smart home - I use it in conjunction with IFTTT and Apilio to automatically turn the lights on when someone enters the room and then turn them off when someone enters the room . The room was empty for 10 minutes. Once you have the Broadlink app installed on your mobile device, setup is quick and easy - you first add the hub by following the in-app instructions. Then add the sensor by following the instructions in the app again. If you have other Broadlink smart devices, you can set the sensor to trigger them by setting up "Scenes" in the app. If you have non-Broadlink smart devices, you need IFTTT to use the sensor to trigger. I have Kasa/TPLink plugs and MagicLight bulbs - everything works together because they are all supported by IFTTT. It's a good idea to check if the device supports IFTTT and whether it's using it as an input ("trigger", ie "if this" part of IFTTT), output ("action", ie "then" part of IFTTT), or both supports . In my case, the motion sensor is the trigger and the plugs and bulbs are the actions. There is a 2-5 second delay between the moment motion is detected and the light turning on, but that's because the information has to be transmitted via IFTTT - monitoring the sensor in the Broadlink application shows that motion is detected almost immediately. If you're serious about setting up your smart home, Apilio adds another layer of sophistication to this sensor by allowing you to customize delays and notifications. Overall I am very happy with the product and have already ordered 2 more! I had some trouble connecting the Broadlink service to Google Home, but to be honest I didn't try too hard. The MagicLights and Kasa sockets are already connected to Google Home, so I can control them all with my voice - this sensor only turns things on and off based on how occupied the room is, and as I mentioned above, this will do with it IFTTT and reaches Apilio. Hope. it all helps!
