Description of ๐Ÿ  Discover the BroadLink Smart Motion Sensor: PIR for Home Automation with IFTTT and Alexa Integration. Trigger a Wireless Smart Home Experience with Occupancy Lighting and Scenes, S3 Hub Included

PROGRAMMABLE HOME AUTOMATION โ€“ The BroadLink Motion Sensor can be set to trigger all smart devices you have in BroadLink App such as smart bulb, smart plug, TV and air conditioner (with IR blaster) or scenes like Reading Mode, Home Mode and Party Mode when person is detected in certain space. Note: Broadlink S3 hub is required and included in the package. One hub can hold up to 8pcs Broadlink devices within 32ft. UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY NOTIFICATION - Set routine to push notification on phone when unexpected occupancy is detected during the time period you are not at home (disable alarm routine if you are at home). Anti-tampering switch triggers alert when sensor is removed. View history at any time for previous records. Up to 29.5 feet range with 120 degrees angle, suitable to cover most of rooms for instant and accurate detection. Can be installed higher to avoid triggering from pets. SAVE ENERGY AND KEEP SAFE - Turn off lights automatically after 2 minutes if no motion is detected or turn off heater after 15 minutes if no one is in the room. Cut off power of your iron to prevent overheating damages when you leave the space and forget it. Wall mounted motion sensor keeps it away from accidental offset from your kids and offers firm and stable performance. Support Alexa routine. Works with IFTTT to trigger devices from other brands in your home. * Note: at present, it doesn't work with google home. TECH SUPPORT - If there is any query on device setup, feel free to contact us anytime. NOTE: A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and hub is required (included). DO NOT power off hub during use of sensors as it will fail to notify you and consume more battery. It doesn't support 5Ghz and mesh network.

False advertising is best in electric

The motion sensor seems to work with IFTTT. When you try to link it to Google from within the app it says there are no devices in the account, although they can literally appear in your app and account as you can see in the images. The motion sensor itself has a huge response lag, so get ready to walk around in the dark for a bit.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • No power

Works great, easy to use.

This introduced me to the world of IFTTT. It annoys me that I didn't think of it sooner. Broadlink hardware works great once set up. I liked the motion sensor so much that I also bought a universal remote control. I'm amazed at how good they are given the low price. The only downside is literally that some of the instructions were written in broken English and difficult to interpret at times. Other than that, I like the motion detector, the Broadlink system, and how well it integrates withโ€ฆ

A simple (sort of) setup works too

I bought a motion sensor + hub and a plug (socket). The hub is set up very quickly according to the instructions. Setting up the fork and motion detector took a while. I was and still am a bit confused about the web, but it works. My WiFi router only runs on 5GHz and this system only runs on 2.4GHz, so I went through the setup many times before hitting the right sequence. I still don't know exactly what I did right/wrong. Somehow the hub is on my 5Ghz WiFi and the Broadlink hardware isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Upgradable

The best part is that the HUB is included in the price. Most other sensors require an expensive hub. I suspect the battery will last a lot longer than other motion sensors with tiny batteries. When I went to step 4 with the quick setup instructions, I found that mine was not working as described in the setup. I had to hack for a good hour to get it working. Once I got it working I was very happy and used it as a TRIGGER for Alexa routines (automatically turning the kitchen lights on and off). I

They only work when they want to!

these things are bullshit. they have their own opinion. When you set them up, they'll recognize multiple sensors for the same sensor, so you'll have to play around until you find the right instance of "somebody" or "nobody." Once set they do not work immediately, they take about an hour to take effect. They've had them for a few months now, the delay is getting longer before they turn on the lights, if they do at all. starts with about a second delay, then the lights come on. Now if they comeโ€ฆ

Great affordable sensor for IFTTT!

This is a great addition to my fledgling smart home - I use it in conjunction with IFTTT and Apilio to automatically turn the lights on when someone enters the room and then turn them off when someone enters the room . The room was empty for 10 minutes. Once you have the Broadlink app installed on your mobile device, setup is quick and easy - you first add the hub by following the in-app instructions. Then add the sensor by following the instructions in the app again. If you have otherโ€ฆ
