After contacting their support team for warranty assistance they basically withdrew from support for their products. A good indicator of a company is how well they treat their customers after the sale and unfortunately they have shown their true colors, they just don't care about their customers when they get your money. Your product has failed me in less than a year of moderate use (I've used it as a table tripod and basically kept it in the same position the whole time). Parent company Vitec also owns Manfrotto, Lowepro, Gitzo as well as many other brands so it's not possible to avoid them completely, but it's important to warn people about them whenever possible after treating them like garbage.
