Some Annoying Details

I just opened it up and set it up so I won't go into how it works, but here are some annoying factors. 1. The manual is terrible. It doesn't show how to use a hex wrench to change bits. It is not explained how to put on the shroud.2. The Dewalt website has an FAQ for the two points above. It contains a link to the video. There is no voice acting in the video, just annoying music. The video shows very briefly how to solve these problems. The tool is advertised with the fact that the blade can be changed "without tools". Luckily they include an Allen key (tool) needed to change the bits. Two of the four holes in the nut that holds the cutter to the spindle accept a hex wrench. The wrench turns the spindle while you have to hold the spindle lock on the other side. This is a discreet black button that must be pressed to lock the spindle. The protective cover is a good idea, but poorly executed. There is a short, rigid steel lever that pulls the pawl out of a series of square holes around the inner caseband. They allow you to twist the sheath to where you want it, but if you twist it too far it will loosen and the sheath will fall off. This is a beast that needs to be returned. As shown in the video, the open side of the sheath should be facing away from the tool when you squeeze the painfully small lever. Then maybe you can move it again.
