Review on πŸ”§ Lincoln 1134 Extra Heavy Duty Pistol Grip Grease Gun - Premium Features and Versatile Extensions for Optimal Lubrication by Kevin Schnitzer

Worked for a while but not anymore - Updated.

I've been using this gun for about a year. Bought to make it easier to lube everything from my Ram pickup, RV, 5th wheel to my 54 Ford tractor. At first it worked well and as advertised. Took it in my RV for a trip west and used it to lubricate the wet bolts in my RV's suspension. Did a few but started playing the last ones. Now at home tried to use it and found that it does not pump lube. It is erased using both methods described in the book. Today I cleaned and disassembled, let's see what's there. The grease injection rod does not return to its rearmost position after each injection, preventing grease from entering the cylinder through the outlet to the hose. My guess is that the plastic plunger pushing the stem is slowly retracting and/or seizing up. After reassembly it worked a bit if I just pulled and released the trigger and waited for the piston to retract (you can hear that). The pneumatic part of the gun was lubricated with oil for pneumatic tools. I'll try taking it apart again and see if something can be done with the plastic plunger. I'll try to call Lincoln, but if that doesn't work, he'll go to the trash can. Of course, trying to fix this is big business. Addendum: I disassembled the pistol and cleaned it thoroughly, lubricated the pneumatic piston with light oil, but it still worked, so disassembled again. The manual describes in detail the operation of the weapon. I found that the valve on the back of the piston, which must be opened after each stroke to relieve pressure, was stuck in the closed position. This is item B in the attached photo. Opened it up and cleaned the area around it. Used some teflon spray lubricant when working back and forth. Put it back together and the piston will work again. I hope to try it today for a real test.
