METAL SHAVINGS INSIDE, avoid! See pic

I just got this Lincoln 1162 grease gun, I screwed on the hose, put on the air nipple and was about to put the grease cartridge in. Thank goodness I decided to look inside the pump head. METAL SHAVINGS in the head and around the piston! I don't know what's going on in Lincoln, but they almost cost me my industrial CNC machine. If I pumped these metal shavings into these roller and linear bearings, my CNC would collapse with thousands of dollars in damage. My business would suffer too! I can…

Heavily overrated. Very moody and unreliable.

Very disappointed with this gun and can't believe all the good reviews. I've used it intermittently for a year and a half and it's always been finicky. Yes, I have read the instructions and yes, I know how to take care of the instruments. I own a production company and make a living making things. On every third attempt to use it, it got blocked by steam or didn't swing. Then you have to open the vent, spread the lube all over the place and try to refill it, clean up the mess and then get to…

For a complete novice in lubricants it CAN be a challenge

I've been using pneumatic grease guns for a while. Hit and miss the dirt road. I reverted to a manual gun because I felt resistance when lubricating a high priced ball joint kit that hydraulically pulls out the seals voids the lifetime warranty. 1.) High quality emotion gun. Difficult. The grip is strong and without play. 2.) clutch. Spring. For someone completely new to lubrication, this CAN be a problem. You have WAY overtightened the knurled adjuster above the collet. I had to use a vise and

in a nicely controlled way

Let me possibly spare you some heartache. When you load this for the first time it will need to be primed which means the top fill screw will PARTIALLY open. Regardless, if it stubbornly refuses to refuel, DO NOT REMOVE THIS SCREW COMPLETELY. Not at all, although one cannot imagine what a catastrophe could have been prevented. When pouring out, the piston that pumps the lubricant may briefly get caught on the edge of the cardboard tube. This may result in you unscrewing the drain plug a little…

very bad not only return policy and reluctance.

Very very bad, not only the return policy and Revain's refusal to accept the return of a defective product after 2 months; I bought this grease gun on December 7, 2017, I couldn't use it at the charity farm until February because of the cold; I unpacked the gun and followed all the instructions and instructions for installation and operation and it didn't work. Revain's return policy ended January 31, 2018. I went to the Lincoln website and found the warranty and recommended local service and…

Worked for a while but not anymore - Updated.

I've been using this gun for about a year. Bought to make it easier to lube everything from my Ram pickup, RV, 5th wheel to my 54 Ford tractor. At first it worked well and as advertised. Took it in my RV for a trip west and used it to lubricate the wet bolts in my RV's suspension. Did a few but started playing the last ones. Now at home tried to use it and found that it does not pump lube. It is erased using both methods described in the book. Today I cleaned and disassembled, let's see what's…
