Our driveway is a quarter mile long and turns into the woods. I was also pleased that the sensor's signal reached the base. The sensors fit in well and almost disappear in a tree or wooden fence. We only installed two of the three sensors and reserved the third in case one fails. So far we're happy with how it's working. On the negative side the sensor has to be completely disassembled to charge it, it would be nice if it had a faster shutdown. I hope the battery lasts two years. Yes, and signal selection should be less complicated. The options we chose were double ring, similar to a doorbell, and quadruple ring, anything else was too annoying to consider. Instead of melodies I would prefer single, double, triple tones.
