So I had big doubts about the durability of the silicone glove as I have always used a quilting glove. I was dying to test this, so for my old school stoves I seasoned my cast iron. Gloves are only rated for 450. I hardened for 525 - I do not recommend this. But after 1 hour I pulled my cast iron out of the oven, I didn't feel anything. Then I held it in my hand, but not by the handle but by the bottom of the pan and it took me a full 10 seconds to get warm, but then it got warm quickly, I had to let go of it. I'm 1000% comfortable using them for everyday baking at 450 or less. After transferring 525 there was no damage to the glove. I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know.
