Not all brass fittings are created equal. We use this type of fitting in our production and with many other brass fittings it does not match other parts we use. Some parts listed as NPT may give you just a few threads in another part while others have 8 or more threads without proper sealing. Either way, you will need to spend time using PTFE tape to get a good seal. These parts are not affected by such conditions. They fit well and we can use thread sealant instead of tape to get a watertight connection. We needed a hex head in the center to build our product and this was solid.
