Trim was peeling

I bought 2 of these - one was going to be a gift. They both had problems with the edges chipping or the spices. I picked one up and seasoned (applied vegetable oil and baked at 475 F for an hour) 5 times and the problem was solved. But I'm not sure if it's worth it. I changed another one and the replacement came with the same problem. I'll probably stick with the Lodge, but I'll choose one from Wal-Mart so I can make sure the trim doesn't chip off. I still love the Lodge but I don't understand why all of these pans have an inferior finish.
