The diffuser was in good condition after opening the box. However, when working with pressurized CO2, even the smallest gaps or defects in pipes, diffusers, valves, etc. will result in CO2 leakage. It took me about 15 minutes to install the diffuser with my system and when I turned it on huge bubbles came out of the metal tube just below the ceramic disc. Upon closer inspection, I saw a tiny scratch on the metal that seemed to pierce the tube only slightly. This was enough to allow all of the CO2 to escape in large bubbles and not be evacuated by the disc, rendering the product completely unusable. You must test your products before shipping them.
