Review on Satechi 12-Port USB Hub with Power Adapter & 2 Control Switches for MacBook Pro, iMac, Surface Pro, Dell XPS, PC and More (2015 MacBook Pro, 2014 MacBook Compatible) by David Sidman

I am very happy with the purchase of this socket. I have a MacBook Pro with only 2 USB ports, one of which powers the cooling pad that the MBP sits on. The other connects to a Satechi 12-port USB hub with a power adapter and two control switches. At the moment I have the following devices using the hub at the same time with no problems: an HP color printer/fax combo, two external hard drives, my iPhone and my Kindle. Neither hard drive is externally powered, but the hub has no problem powering them. I installed the hub on the back of the table next to the chair I usually work with. The hub isn't visible and the cables are secured to one of the table legs with a pair of zip ties, so they're not very noticeable either. I would definitely recommend this hub to all my friends and would buy again anytime. In terms of customer service, my experience was not with this unit but with Soundfly AUX MP3 Player Car FM Transmitter for SD Card USB Drive. , MP3 player iPod, Zune, Sansa with remote control. I was having issues so I emailed Satechi Support and got a response within an hour. They offered to send me a new one and pay for the old one to be sent back so they could try to figure out what went wrong. I kept trying to get it to work and it turned out that the problem (blushes) was user error. I didn't notice the shifter on the car console blocking the Soundfly and interfering with the remote. After moving the transmitter to another location it worked like clockwork and I've been using it happily for a few months. I emailed them as soon as I realized it was my problem and they were very nice and thanked me for following up. This level of customer service is refreshing and, unfortunately, is becoming increasingly difficult to come by. I think Satechi might have a new best friend.
