Purchased for clay sculpting and when I used plasticine clay the metal left a black residue on my clay and fingers which I don't think would happen with stainless steel. I've used other stainless steel tools that weren't stained with clay, which leads me to question the metal material. I can't use if I don't want to color my clay. This was a problem on a project I used tools on because I wanted to sculpt and use my clay as is without baking or painting. But the black sediment and the smell of metal on the fingers are not pleasant for anyone :/
