I haven't made a final rating yet but so far I like how they turned out. I did a test butterfly and it was still there after the rain, but it couldn't be smeared with a finger when wet. Don't pump it up; simply hold down until the tip is fully saturated; It won't take long, but time is relative. HOWEVER: Although you may need to re-saturate the tip a few times during your project (especially if you're writing on a vertical surface like me), resist the urge to do so until you actually try to write and nothing will come of it , otherwise you will get a huge lump of pigment on your surface. If you don't get good coverage anywhere, don't waste your time trying to pass it again. Just wipe it off and start over. I don't know how well they hold up to lubrication outside of the rain, but I think I'll find out. EDIT, about a year later: I didn't wash them. about six months, and they weathered fairly well as long as they weren't touched. I came across the pink lettering and it was peeling off my shirt (but faded). The bad news is that the greens, yellows, and oranges only survived one use. I went out to redraw the letters and none of the three colors came out more than a trickle.
