Unfortunately, Comcast has simplified the user interface so that I can only see the most basic settings. But after Comcast fixed their many setup bugs (unrelated to this point) they were easy to set up and worked fantastic and were very reliable. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 based on my educated guess that the UI is probably missing (based on my new ZyXEL modem's UI and other reviewers' comments on the BRG35503 UI as I don't have access to most of the BRG35503's UI). I have a LAN port connected to my own Linux firewall and it syncs with DHCP and forwards traffic at 35.5/4.1 (down/up) speeds with no problem. I trust the specs that say it can handle a much higher bandwidth. I think a dedicated basic modem like this with separate dedicated WAP is usually more reliable and expandable than a more expensive all-in-one. With this device, you can upgrade your WAP to 802.11ac in a year or two without impacting your Internet connection or wasting your investment in a bundled (and usually lower quality) modem WAP.
