Instructions could be better. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use and works well. There is one pitfall you should be aware of. While adjusting the volume, press the up and down arrows. If you do this when the timer fails, it will beep every time you press it to tell you the volume. Turning the volume all the way down still beeps at the lowest volume, but you really just turn the beep off and hear nothing when the alarm goes off. So be careful not to turn the volume down accidentally, or make sure you turn the volume up at least once after pressing the volume all the way down. If you adjust the volume while the timer is running, you will hear the correct tone, from no tone at all to maximum tone.
