If you also have a laptop of the same model as mine, the drive must be connected to the computer via USB, so make sure you have a USB cable. The instructions are the easiest to follow. All in all a good product and good value for money. For those looking for a Blu-Ray, the instructions that came with it said it had to download non-company software and it would work with the drive.
