Review on Enhanced Pottery Tool Set - 12-Piece Deluxe Kit with Storage Canister by Jack Richeson by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality clay tool set

I needed a beginner set of clay tools. I looked at the many kits available from Revain and chose this kit because it was a reasonable price for the amount of tools I received. Based on reviews of other kits, one of the things that drew me to this kit was that most of the parts were machined/painted (many of the other kits I looked at were raw wood). When I showed the kit to my instructors they were impressed with the quality and when I told them how much I paid they agreed that $19.95 was a very good price. After working with the instruments for a week, I fell in love with them. The only comment I have is that the clay cutting tool (wire on two handles) is very strong, which is both a good thing and a bad thing: good when you're working with big, heavy pieces, but bad because of the Wire is Thick and When Trying to cut thin/tender pieces off the wheel, the wire was almost too thick and snapped at the soft clay. For this set to be perfect, it had to include a small sponge and a metal blade, two essentials when working with clay. So I'm going to buy them separately now.

Pros
  • Ceramic and pottery tools
Cons
  • Some small things
