Review on 🔩 KYB 334400 Excel-G Gas Strut: Unparalleled Performance in Sleek Black and Silver Design by Daniel Shivashankar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The first set has driven 90,000 km, the second set has just been installed.

Second time buying these shock absorbers for my Toyota Highlander V6 2006 Limited. Both times I changed all 4 racks at once. The originals were replaced around 2012 and with a mileage of around 90,000 kilometers. The second time was at the end of 2017 with 189,000 miles. I'm just a weekend mechanic. We could have left the old ones on longer, but they've gotten a bit springy. The old shelves were good for my wife but my car sometimes stalls so they bothered me. The installation went well both times. Just a couple of suggestions: use aluminum anti-seize on the screws to keep them from rusting completely there. One of my A-pillars was so stuck I had to use penetrating oil, an air wrench and a breaker, but it still wouldn't budge. I stood on the pole, it was so tight. The last thing I used was a propane torch to heat the area around the bolt. Finally there was something. Second, look at the rear boots to see if they can be salvaged. One of mine was torn several inches from the bottom. I would order them too if I bothered before buying.

Pros
  • Specially calibrated to restore the original handling and drive characteristics of the Lexus RX.
Cons
  • High price.
