The binoculars themselves seem normal. When I received them I tried them outside at night to test them and they seem to be working fine. Then I actually planned on using them and took them to the zoo to use and hang on my belt using the loop on the pouch they came with. The belt loop on the bag broke 2 hours after wearing it while walking around the zoo. Very disappointed with it and therefore a smaller number in the rating. The limitation of using binoculars in my opinion is that you have to take them out of your pocket to use them every time (I'm not a fan of wearing them around your neck).
