Wire color definitely need to check as if you use it for RV. I think it will be ok, but for a standard trailer, you'd better check. Here's what I had: Black = 12v power, Brown = right rear and signal, Blue = brake control. White = Ground, Red = Left Tail and Signal, Green = Running Lights So you can see this isn't a standard trailer, but once you know the color scheme it all works pretty well. I added it to my 6x12 single axle trailer so I didn't have to use a converter on my 4Runner. The 8ft cord is almost too long, but I just rolled it up and wired it to the inside of the trailer frame to give me enough length if needed, but it's safely out of the way.
