It rusts very very quickly inside

The box is correctly connected to the connector for the truck, just the wrong colors for the states, I will post pictures so you know which color goes where Move Do not unplug the box cables, because if you connect it to the truck, it will not work properly. In the box, yellow represents reverse lights if you have them and blue represents breaks. The reason for the 2 stars is that I haven't even wet the thing yet and all the components inside are rusting, I'm afraid it will rust quickly and…

Pros
  • It gives pleasure
Cons
  • There are nuances

Wire color coding is wrong!

Incorrect cable color coding! I followed the guide and connected the spade lugs according to the 7-pin schematic and nothing worked properly. I found that 5 of the 7 wires are the wrong color, the only correct ones are ground (white) and trailer brakes (blue). Of course, it took me a while to figure out that the connector wasn't properly connected and sealed, so you can't troubleshoot the issue. I lay under my trailer for hours removing the wiring harness and tape from my trailer wires looking…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Excellent unit. Easy to install and connect

Excellent device. easy to assemble and connect. Too bad I didn't read Ryan Jones' review before I started wiring. I installed all new wiring on my flatbed truck and used the standard wire and bulb color code. Connected the wiring to the color of the box so the color matched and nothing worked. I took out a power tester and found that the colored wires on this device mean absolutely nothing in terms of wiring standards. All the wires of the correct color are in the block, but they are misplaced…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Nothing

Wire color definitely need to check as if you use it for RV. I think it will be ok, but for a standard trailer, you'd better check. Here's what I had: Black = 12v power, Brown = right rear and signal, Blue = brake control. White = Ground, Red = Left Tail and Signal, Green = Running Lights So you can see this isn't a standard trailer, but once you know the color scheme it all works pretty well. I added it to my 6x12 single axle trailer so I didn't have to use a converter on my 4Runner. The 8ft…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • weak

This is a good quality junction box with a 7 pin plug but pay close attention to the wiring diagram in the instructions. They tell you exactly which wire colors go where. For example, the green right turn/stop goes to the brown wire on the box. The yellow left curve/bus stop is connected to the box's red cable. The brown taillights are connected to the green wire of the box. Auxiliary color is black and usually red wire. The return wire is yellow, usually black. Brake and ground wire colors are

  • Everything is fine!

Make sure you have a volt meter with you

I assumed it would be hooked up to the traditional 7 pin trailer configuration as the name does not mean RV and all new horse trailer wires or ( 12.10.14) and standard colors (see attached picture). When I connected this mating cable to our Silverado 3500HD's cable and pins, I found that it was wired for standard RV connections, meaning the wires did not match (again, see attached image). So now I have 10/12/14 gauge wires mixed up and in different colors. Looks like I'll have to go back and…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Much better than expected

Not many reviews but felt I had to write about it. I added backup lights and 12v wires to a 5ft x 8ft cargo trailer and needed to connect them through my 7 pin plug. At first I just bought the end to go ahead and connect the cable but then I saw this and I liked the junction box not just to connect to the plug. I was expecting it to be the usual low quality Chinese import junk that would still serve my purpose, but this thing far exceeds what I expected even though it IS a Chinese import…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Really helped clean my trailer wiring.

I have had intermittent problems connecting to the existing 7 way connector in my 1 year old caravan. I bought this replacement on the recommendation of a friend. This unit is very well constructed and really helped clean up the cable mess my trailer builder was causing. The unit is well packaged and has several standoffs to allow cables to be routed in a fairly airtight environment. There was a very small manufacturing defect which I found and fixed. The blue wire had protruding strands…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
