Review on 🔌 Plugable USB 2.0 2-Port High Speed Ultra Compact Hub Splitter—480 Mbps Compatibility with Windows, Linux, macOS, Chrome OS by Oscar Chambers

I connected a keyboard and mouse to share the USB port and didn't notice any drop in responsiveness. UPDATE 2015.12.26 This USB hub still works great, although on extremely *rare* occasions (I can probably count on the fingers of one hand how often) the computer would not respond to any keystrokes at boot, even though the keyboard light was on. The simple solution was to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard or splitter and then everything worked. I don't know if the splitter was to blame, or if it was because my old Logitech mouse failed, or if my Microsoft keyboard doesn't like the fact that I'm using a competitor's mouse. Anyway, I'm still very happy with this USB hub. There is literature on the product page and there are comments that multiple (non-self-powered) storage devices should not be connected to this USB hub. for various reasons. I haven't tried using it to transfer data, and personally I wouldn't even recommend it, as USB hubs/hubs that don't have their own external power supplies tend to draw power when transferring data to/from a storage device to consume another storage medium. This behavior can cause storage devices to become corrupted or at least become annoying when they are repeatedly disconnected and reconnected (along with OS notifications).
