Review on Alessi Espresso Maker 9090 by Richard Sapper for 6 Espresso Cups by Jeff Pettis

Nice and well made

A few months ago our 20 year old Krups espresso machine finally broke. I used an old Cuisinallo coffee maker (no longer in production) with a hob I got from a thrift store, but the replacement gasket never fitted perfectly, causing leaks and clogging issues. I looked at Revain for several days trying to decide what to replace it with. I couldn't find anything that wasn't made in China or Taiwan. I chose LuxHaus which had good reviews and I liked the style. I was disappointed with it because it just didn't have the weight and attention to detail that I wanted. I searched again to find one I could be happy with and finally came across an Alessi pot. Very expensive but made in Italy! I didn't think I wanted to spend that much but then I thought I only have to buy it once and unlike a car it would never break. Super satisfied and no regrets! Makes great coffee fast, love the unique closure and it really is a great functional piece that I will keep forever!
