My wife loves me I gave it to her, she is a great cook. This set of 5 kyoku knives with block, 8" chef's knife + 8" bread knife + 6.5" carving knife + 5" utility knife + 3.5" paring knife - made of high quality Japanese steel. This is a perfect kitchen cutlery Wooden block knife set making it elegant and beautiful The knives are obviously made of high quality steel as they are very sharp and we have now used them 8 days in a row this is the perfect set for any kitchen and/or gift for someone. They are also very elegant with woodcuts that look great on the counter. So here's the rub, I actually chipped the bottom of the block a bit, it came out perfectly clean (not recommended) and hung it on the wall in My wife wasn't thrilled until she saw them, she was glad they were on the counter but I have OCD ha Now my ultra sharp cobalt infused knives are on display without taking up counter space. Those knives are characterized by unmatched performance and incredible edge retention, so they must be the best knives we've ever had, and superb craftsmanship, even on the handles. Just love them, get them and show them off as they are beautiful and functional.
