The kettle arrived on time and is just as good as the photos. I unpacked it, read the washing instructions (that is, boil a pot of water, rinse, then use the kettle). I washed it first with dish soap and a kitchen sponge. My kitchen sponge is now black despite repeated rinsing. I washed it 2 more times with soap and a clean soft cloth. I still found a dark coating on the rag, boiled the kettle almost full with clean water, poured it out, waited for it to cool, rinsed and washed with soap and a new clean rag. This fourth wash left a darker residue on the fabric after boiling. I'm cooking for the second time. I can update this and simply return the product. I worry about people following the cleaning instructions: what are they eating?!
