I bought 2 of these soft open and soft close doors for my bathroom door which I have turned into a pocket door. They more than doubled the cost of the hardware, but once the door was installed, they justified the cost. They work with a spring and a slowly closing piston. Be sure to follow the instructions or you will break the closer. There is a piece of plastic (probably nylon) that attaches to a stop attached to the frame. The amount of plastic parts makes me concerned about their durability. I hope that the parts that are most affected by use are strong enough to withstand years of use. I'm also concerned about the hollow core door. It appears to be designed to work with real solid wood (not solid core) doors. The Masonite door I installed it on is MDF at the top where the hanger mount attaches to the door. If that part fails, it will take some creative carpentry to fix it, or some expense for a solid wood door. The hardware seems to work well with the heavy solid door. Each kit I received contained a ball bearing reel with closers, a zinc plated latch bracket, a cad plated door bracket, 2 zinc plated #12 pan head screws and an adjustment wrench. , and instructions. You need a wrench to adjust the height. If installing for a soft opening, you will need access to the pocket end of the track to install AND adjust the opening restrictor. Keep this in mind when your door is already installed and closed or before you close the pocket area. The instructions are available on the LE Johnson website and make this very clear. Good quality overall, easy installation, works great, highly recommend.
