I bought this to replace the intermittent starter motor on my 1998 Toyota Sienna. I was going to try to rebuild the solenoid (sounded like it was the problem) but it's cold now and 20 years old so I bought it for convenience. It turned out to be identical to the original in size and size. I had to remove the battery positive terminal and cruise control and twist up to gain access to remove the starter motor. It only took two screws and two wires to remove the starter and it came out with some cables and wires pushing to the side. The installation was undone. I deducted a star because the magnetic connector was not blocked like on the old starter. Using a light and mirror, I noticed that the new starter was missing a small protrusion inside the starter solenoid connector that engages the cable connector retainer. A zip tie around the wire and around this zip tie and the starter solenoid connector fixed this issue. I am satisfied, I will buy again at a good price. The sonic difference was the higher crankshaft RPM, resulting in a quicker start - a good sign. The fine print in the manufacturer's lifetime warranty says it only applies if installed by a certified mechanic at an approved service center, which I think implies that a DIYer doesn't get a warranty?
